How to Remove Mud Stains
It's great for you and the family to get out and enjoy some fresh air, but what do you do if outside play turns into a muddy mess? Don't let mud stains put a damper on your outdoor activities. Let Tide show you how to clean mud effectively and get your muddy clothes looking their best again.
Getting mud out of clothes may seem like a chore, but you can get those muddy clothes sparkling again in just a few easy steps.
Steps to Remove Mud Stains
Carefully scrape or wipe off any excess mud from the item. Rinse the remaining stain with cold water to remove as much stain as possible.
Pre-treat the stain with Tide Ultra OXI High Efficiency Liquid pouring it directly onto the stain. Rub the fabric together gently, or use a soft-bristled toothbrush to spread the detergent into the stain, and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Use the cap to ensure you use the right amount of detergent, and pour it into the detergent dispenser if you have an HE machine, or directly into the drum before loading the clothes if you have a non-HE machine.
Without rinsing off the pre-treating detergent, place the garment into the washer with other items. Leaving the detergent on the stain will give you wash that extra boost of cleaning power.
When the wash cycle is complete, unload the garments immediately.
If your stain remains after washing and you've still got muddy jeans, repeat the previous steps before drying, as drying will set the stain.
