Q: What is different about Tide Plus Febreze Freshness vs. Tide Original?
A: Tide Plus Febreze Freshness now gives you the same cleaning power you expect from Tide, but with an added freshness benefit. It offers 3x the freshness of Tide Original with a scent that lasts for up to 12 weeks.

Q: What is the ingredient that makes Tide Plus Febreze Freshness special?
A: Our Tide Plus Febreze Freshness formula now contains renewing scent technology that releases freshness as you move. This helps keep your fabrics smelling fresh for up to 3 weeks.

Q: Will Tide Plus Febreze Freshness clean as well as Tide Original?
A: Both products provide excellent cleaning and stain removal.

How it Works

Tide Plus Febreze Freshness contains new renewing scent technology which releases on motion. This provides bursts of freshness in your fabrics all day long.

Like most Tide detergents,Tide Plus Febreze Freshness contains surfactants. Surfactant molecules have two parts. One is "water loving" and the other is "water hating." The water-loving (hydrophilic) part breaks the surface tension of water. The water-hating (hydrophobic) part is attracted to oil and grease in soils, loosening and removing them from fabrics. Detergents usually contain more than one type of surfactant to address the needs of removing certain types of soils and cleaning different types of fabrics.

Safety

Ensuring the safety of our Tide® line of fabric care products is a responsibility that P&G takes very seriously. Before any product can appear on store shelves, it must be demonstrated safe to use as intended. But that is only the beginning of our journey. The Earth's resources are limited and valuable, and we have an obligation to future generations to use these resources wisely.

Hives

Never had a skin issue with Tide products until I purchased this by mistake and used it. Have horrible itchy hives as a result. Throwing it out and re-washing sheets towels and clothes. With all the ingredients going to Tide with no scents and for sensitive skin.

Disappointed in new scent

The original Sport worked great - removed odors quite well and left the clothes smelling clean. I've read comments from Tide on other's comments that the scent changes, and they claim it has not. Maybe the problem is the febreze part is the majority of the scent vs Tide. Whatever the case may be, I agree with the others that this scent is now overwhelming. I do not want to smell perfume on my workout towel - as it makes it hard to breathe when wiping my face. Please bring back how this product was originally introduced.

We do heavily rely on feedback such as this, and we'll be sure to share your thoughts with the rest of our team. Our Tide PLUS Febreze Sport - Active Fresh did undergo a scent change in February 2019, and the new fragrance features floral, green, and powdery characters. With this upgrade, this detergent also now delivers even better odor removal. Always works for my family.

We bounce around from scent to scent. They all work fantastic for my family. Tide is a great product. My only complaint would be I think P&G has made the packaging less bright or with a lot less less pop recently... not sure if that is intentional. Tide used to jump off the shelf and right into my cart. It is starting to blend in with the others. I hope it stays #1.

Works and smells great

It gets clothes clean and smelling great. I switched to this because I think it leaves more scent on my clothes than the other versions of tide; which is what I wanted because I want my clothes to actually smell clean.

Better before Febreze - too strong

I have always loved this for athletic clothes, especially as my daughters started to play more sports. It worked well on those fabrics that just seem to hold on to bad odors. However, the most recent version with Febreze has a scent that is just too strong, and causes a skin contact allergy for our family. Seems like it went overboard to be too much of a good thing. We do not have issues with any other Tide product. Disappointed that we are no longer able to use this, and searching for another solution.
