Melting
I do like the pods. The only reason I didn’t give. 5 star is that I have noticed when they melt in the washer sometimes they melt on my laundry. I’ve noticed this on my sheets and other clothing.

Sticky stain on laundry
I am not sure if the TIDE 3 in 1 pods have changed their formula. We love TIDE because we do not get an allergic reaction to the formula. HOWEVER, I have a consistent problem with the outside not dissolving away leaving a hard sticky substance on my laundry. I have been using the pods for years in the same machine and had no problems. This past year, all of my laundry loads come out with one or two garments having the hard sticky stain. I have to use shout to get the sticky off the garment because another wash does not do the trick. I am not crazy about washing a clean piece of clothing twice, but the sticky stain on my clothes and towels and sheets results in a required second washing.

We're sorry a loyal Tide fan like you is having this experience, since our Tide PODS™ are designed to dissolve completely. As well, we can assure you that this product hasn't undergone any recent formula changes. If they’re unable to dissolve properly, this may be because they don't have access to enough water. We'd be happy to share some of our best tips to ensure that they fully dissolve! We suggest making sure the load isn’t too large, not many absorbent items are present, and that the PODS™ are always put into the machine first, before the laundry. To remove that residue, please soak the items overnight in water, and then re-wash in your washing machine with no laundry detergent, and at the highest temperature permitted by the care label. We hope this helps! Since we value your satisfaction, we'd like to look into this further for you. When you have a chance, please give us a call at (800) 879-8433.

Senior user!
I can’t get the container open, I will never buy this container again. I have been using tide my entire life, but I will have to switch to something that I can use. I have to go to a neighbor to open my tide pods before I can do my laundry! That is really maddening!

We're sorry a loyal Tide fan like you is having this experience. We heavily rely on feedback such as this, so please be assured that we'll be sharing your thoughts with the rest of our team. Safety is our top priority, which is why we've designed our containers to be both easy for adults to open and close while still being difficult for young children to open. To open the Tide PODS™ bag with the Child-Guard zipper, with the front of the bag facing forward, grip the left side of the bag below the tear notch with your left hand. Use your right hand to tear, and continue tearing in an upward direction in order to open the bag. For our tubs, push/squeeze the tabs simultaneously and twist the lid counterclockwise to remove the lid. We hope this helps. We'd like to learn more, so please give us a call at (800) 879-8433 when you have a moment.

We’re sorry you had this experience, since our PODS™ are designed to dissolve completely and provide your items with a superior clean. We'd be happy to share some tips to ensure that they fully dissolve. We suggest making sure that not too many absorbent items are present, the load isn’t too large, and that you’re always placing the PODS™ in first, before your items. To remove those stains from your bedding, we recommend rinsing it under hot water (up to temperature permitted on care label). Wring it out and lay it flat, then apply rubbing alcohol or antibacterial hand gel (make sure it’s clear and contains alcohol) to the stain, covering the entire stain. Let this soak for 10 minutes, and then re-wash your bedding as normal. We'd like to look into this further for you, so please give us a call at (800) 879-8433 when you have a moment.
