Low fat margarine or extra creamy salted butter? To Tide they’re all the same: a few quick steps and it’s easy to get rid of butter stains.
Gently rub dish detergent into the stain, and let it sit for a few minutes. You may also create a soaking solution in a bucket, sink or bowl by adding 1 ounce or 1 ½ tablespoons of Tide Ultra Stain Release Liquid per gallon of warm water. Allow the garment to soak, totally submerged, for up to 30 minutes.
Pre-treat:
Gently rub dish detergent into the garment to saturate the affected area, and let it sit for a few minutes. Alternatively, you may also use a bucket, a sink or a bowl to create a soaking solution by adding 1 ounce or 1 ½ tablespoons of Tide Ultra Stain Release Liquid per gallon of warm water. Allow the garment to soak for up to 5 minutes, weighting the item with a white towel to keep it totally submerged.

Dose:
Use the cap to ensure you use the right amount of detergent, and pour it into the detergent dispenser if you have an HE machine, or directly into the drum before loading the clothes if you have a non-HE machine.
Load:
Without rinsing off the detergent, place the garment into the washer with other items. Leaving the detergent on the stain will give your wash that extra boost of cleaning power.

Wash:
Wash on the usual cycle, on the hottest wash temperature indicated. Always check the instructions on the garment’s care label.

Unload:
When the cycle is complete, unload the garments immediately.

If the stain remains after washing, then repeat steps 2-5 before drying.
