Overall Review
A small dark spot appeared on the white section of a new conforter. I did not want to wash the whole thing for one small spot, so I decided to try a tide to go pen. It worked wonderfully well, removed the spot and left no residue that I could detect.
I wore a brand new shirt to work for the 1st time and got mud on my mint green colored shirt. I used the pent to get the mud stain out and it did, however it bleached my shirt and now there is a big white circle. Brand new shirt ruined. So not only did i waste money on a brand new shirt, i wasted the money on buying the tide pen to go thinking it would help. I would not recommend this product at all.
Got three small-ish dark resin stains out of the hoodie I was wearing, treated it with TTG immediately, followed by washing machine cycle and there was no stain. Thank You Tide To Go! This hoodie was pricey and the last one that was made, I would have been SOL otherwise.
Never used the pen till we were recently on vacation in St Lucia. During dinner my husband spilled a small amount of gravy on an inexpensive linen shirt (white with some light plaid colors). Got back to the room and used the pen on the spot. Didn’t even add water to it...next day, we looked it over and could not find where the spill was! I was sold; glad we brought it with us on vacation.
When I first got my tide pen, I loved it! I tried it on a few stains and it worked great. However, I just got a new clothing item (never wore it, still had tags on) and it happened to get a stain. I was so excited I could use my tide pen to easily get it out but the ended up making a stain 4x the size of the original stain. Not happy with it
Used today on a new shirt and it smells horrible. My husband thought the toddler had pooped in his diaper in the car and my oldest son hugged me and ask why I stunk.
I used this product on a hoodie. I applied the stick to a tiny spot and now I have two huge yellowish stains on it from where it was applied.
This little pen works really, really well. Having this little pen handy, I never have to worry about a food stain standing out at meetings or when I meet colleagues at functions.
Bought a 3 pac of this product made my clothes smell horrible. I would expect much better from tide and pg.
While eating beet salad I unfortunately spilled some of it on my white uniform. Fortunately Tide to go was in my truck. Works like a charm
We have used tide to go many times on our shirts, I just used it on my wife's blue and white shirt which she had a sauce stain, we have used the stick on this shirt before with no problems. This time I applied the stick and it removed the stain but also removed the blue stripe and ruined her shirt. I am sure Tide will do nothing about this.
I got a small stain on my brand new shirt and thought I'd use a Tide Pen to get the stain off. Now, I have a large, white spot on my shirt where the pen completely bleached the color out. I'm never using a Tide Pen again and will not recommend this product to anyone.
I'm so disgusted. I had been looking EVERYWHERE for months for a pink shirt for a certain college team. Finally found one and wore it for the first time today. I dropped sauce on it while eating in the car. Well I thought of the tide pen. It worked like a charm in removing the stain RIGHT ALONG WITH THE PINK DYE IN MY SHIRT leaving a white spot right in the middle on the front. It looks like I used a bleach pen instead! I have used tide detergents in various forms so long that I don't remember when I started. I trusted Tide with all my washables... Needless to say, that trust is gone.
I can’t rate something that I can’t use, your review system is flawed!!!! Spent $6.77 Canadian and could not use the product as it was missing the top piece, my guess is that this missed the quality standard testing.
This product is 100% helpful and I will continue to use it.
Bought this as an emergency as I was running errands with my wife and wanted to get out a drop of tomato out and it did not remove the stain at all. I had to buy a three pack.
I used my stain stick on my white shirt when I dropped a small drop of ketchup on it. It took the ketchup out but left a yellow stain on my shirt from the stick itself. :(
Please don’t buy this. It’ll ruin your shirt. I just recently got a new white hoodie and used this to go remove a small stain on my makeup foundation. Left a huge yellow stain on the area.
Tried to get a little salsa off my sweatshirt, and it bleached a giant spot right on the middle of it. Can't wear it anymore.
Used this for a quick spot stain removal on white pants. It left a yellow stain bigger than the original mark. Almost worse, the smell is unbearable. It smells like feces or vomit. Avoid.
I got some oil stains on my brown hoodie and immediately applied tide to go. I then washed it and now there's white spots like its been bleached. Ruined my hoodie. first and last time I use this.
I had gotten some sauce on the inside of my jacket. I tried using the stick to remove the satin. It ended up leaking through my coat and left a green stain in its place.
Major design flaw: the cap simply pushes on & off. The cap always comes off in my bag and it pushes up against stuff, depressing the tip & releasing the liquid. Please make it screw top.
I love using the Tide stick. I have a Tide stick in my desk & it works miracles. It smells like baby vomit, though. Coffee smells the worst to get out. Can we get a nice smell added to it? Lavender?
I spilled a little ketchup on my jeans, dabbed the spot lightly with a wet paper towel and then gently applied the Tide Stick. The spot is now bleach and ruined.
I wish I had never bought this product! This product smells terrible- both me and those around me- can smell this vomit like product after use. DO NOT BUY! I wish you give negative stars.
Recently dropped blueberry pie on my white shirt at an event. Couldn’t change so used my Tidestick. It worked magic and the stain disappeared and saved the day. Thank you!!
The pen smells sour and tide representative said that the has a funky odor is normal.
I always loved the clean look of all white bedding, but have 2 dogs. I bought Tide to go and in between washing my white duvet, I use the pen on any spots that show up. It has worked great!
At work, dropped an orange highlighter on my white skirt. Grabbed the pen, went over the stain a couple of times, gone instantly. Love this Awesome product!!!
My sister spilled red wine on her wedding dress at her reception. It was a BIG stain. After dabbing the Tide pen on the lace and the lining, the dress was saved! No damage to the dress and no stain!
The product states it works on spaghetti sauce. However, within 12 hours of the stain occuring, I attempted to remove it and absolutely nothing happened. A waste of $6
I now have a "new" yellow stain on my white cotton blouse where the "old" tomato-based stain used to be. The bleach in the Tide stick reacted unfavourably with the fabric.
I purchased a Tide stain stick to try to get a watermelon juice stain out before it dried. Not only did it NOT remove the original spot but It also left a big yellow circle on my white shirt!
I needed something to clean my white shoes with and when I cleaned the with Tide to go my shoes became yellow
This is marketed to be a quick solution, yet here I am with a shirt that smells like literal garbage, and an even bigger stain now, with the fluid from the pen spreading it into a larger spot.
Tide to Go stick is exactly what you need in a pinch, my white clothes seem to always get a stain on them, whether I know what it's from or not I can count on getting the stain out of it ASAP.
The pen did not remove stain from shirt and caused permanent white discolouration, ruining my shirt. DO NOT RECOMMEND
Used as directed on chino shorts to remove chocolate syrup spots. Left discolored spots and stain remains.
Today, I was eating a Chicago dog with everything on it and "wham" I dropped green relish and yellow mustard in tandem down the front of my shirt. Five minutes later the stains were completely gone !!
Dropped some of my breakfast burrito on my shirt.. used tide pen, rubbed the strain for what felt like hours, the "pen" did not work in the slightest... felt like I was ripped off...
It seems to get any kind of stain out, and pretty reliably too.
Pen did not work. I've been using the pen for the last three hours, which is a coffee stain. The stain did not come out, instead, it made it look like it was running down my pants.
I am extremely unhappy with the Tide to Go stick - it didn't work. I still have the stain on my shirt, very visible, and for the rest of my day today. The product actually smells terrible too!
I have always sworn by Tide Pens and always have them in my bag, but today that all changed when I pulled it out to remove a stain from my designer top it put a hole in my top. I was livid!
it is really cool and i highly recomend but TIFFANY will not share the secret formula with me and im HIGH KEY OFFENDED but I love it so much!!!!
I keep a pen in the car and work being that I'm always staining my clothes when I'm on lunch.
I’m on a student budget& I had a few little stains to get out on my white shirt, so I thought I’d buy this $5 stick to get them out. Well it ran out after 3 uses & I wish I could get my money back.
I dropped a lot of coffee on my white shirt and bought a Tide to Go. It saved me; definitely works!
I just removed a red felt tip pen mark from my dress. Worked great! But like everyone else says, why does it smell this bad????
I bought it and have tried it on a few things like chocolate coffee juice and it hasn’t removed any of the stains
I am unsure why this pen smells horribly. I honest to god thought someone stuck my pen in feces or someones vomit!! Why on Earth does it smell so bad? I cannot stand it.
Tide pens are good, work as promised. My one Big problem is the foul odor they develop after four months. No warning about it on packaging I've seen. Can anything be done to correct the issue?
This pen has saved me a few times from lunch. When lunch jumps out and takes a chunk of professionalism from your attire you will be prepared with this handy pen.
There was a time I dropped a strawberry on a white cushioned chair at a bridal shower, another was when my friend stained her white bridal gown. Thank G-d for Tide to Go!
I dropped food on my blouse and jeans. The stain on my blouse is still the same, only difference is that it looks like a wet stain. My jeans, the stain looks like the stain spread.
Used tide to get a coffee stain out of my grey shoes and it turned the spots white. Completely ruined an almost brand new pair.
This stuff is AMAZING! Like, thai-iced-tea-out-of-white-pants-in-thirty-seconds amazing! It even got dark green pen out of my favorite light grey sweatshirt! No idea where I would be without this!
I got a small tomato sauce stain on my shirt and went to use the stick ASAP but it made it much worse. Now I smell like straight up chemicals and look like a mess.
i spilt some coffee on my white shirt and i used my tide to go stick and it made it worse now i have a huge yellow spot on my brand new white top. Please help!
Used as directed on light blue cotton expensive pants and it completely bleached them!? Package didn't warn about it fading the pants.NEVER would have used it had there been this warning. DO NOT BUY
Does not work at all. Tried on multiple different things and the stain is still there
Was eating a steak, got a drop of grease on my wool pants, dabbed spot with napkin, applied the tide pen less than 3 minutes after; pen was completely ineffective and may have made the spot worse!
I just opened a new pen and it was dry thus it was useless. Very disappointing. I believe that there is less liquid recently than when pens first came out.
Would you rather look dirty or smell dirty? The foul smell of this product by far exceeds its cleaning potential.
Used it immediately - effect was a splotch around original, unchanged grease (from hamburger).
Once again at work and got a stain from moving a computer on my slacks. This helps to down play the stain till you have time to wash\dry clean your slacks or shirt.
So I'm 22 and I bought a Legend of Zelda bed set. The cat had fun with a pen ALL OVER it. I grabbed my Tide pen; it removed ALL of the INK STAIN - it even cleared it out of the white parts! 10/10
I have a tide pen in my purse & desk. They work great; the smell however is unbelievably retched. I thought it was spoiled until I opened a second one only to smell the same.
This product is the opposite of what i needed! it was unable to destain my grape juice soaked tee shirt. This product is overall a waste of money and i do not recommend. Oxi Clean works much better!
While on a cruise I got a red drink on white slacks. I was given a "Tide to go" stick by another passenger. I was totally amazed that the stain disappeared!
I use the pen at work after lunch as I always spill something. It makes the stain virtually invisible in about 20 minutes and saves me from looking sloppy in meetings. Thanks!
I spilled coffee on my shirt I did just what the packaging said to clean the excess and then proceed to use the stain remover. It did not work whatsoever it just made my stain bigger!
I just used the stick to try and get blue ballpoint pen out of my ivory blouse. It made it worse. Thank goodness I'm wearing a cardigan
I got a small spot of juice on them. I put a small amount of tide pen on the spot. The spot has now been replaced by a larger faded area. I didn't read anything about not using the tide pen on jeans.
Is it true that they can go bad? I just used and it smells like throw-up. Why is this?
Your TideToGo pen ruined my new white shirt! I bought one of these pens to get out a couple of spaghetti sauce spots, and everywhere I rubbed the pen, turned the shirt yellow!! Shirt is ruined.
This pen left yellow everywhere I rubbed it to get a couple spots of spaghetti sauce on my brand new white shirt. Shirt's ruined.
All this did was give my expensive clothing stains that wont come out. DO NOT BUY
Used it on a colored shirt and it REMOVED THE COLOR. Nothing to warn me that this may happen, no way for me to know. Don't waste your money!!
Just rubbed the pen into a stain a little and the color came out of that spot in my shirt.
Today I had a small brown food stain on my light beige jacket and the Tide pen got rid of it completely with no ring in less than 30 seconds. Fantastic!
well, it did get the grease stain out but now I have an even larger bleached out area. I did not see any warning that it was bleaching....
I used this on a pair of coloured jeans and it ended up staining them this white cloudy colour....not happy.
The liquid in this pen left marks on my cotton/poly raincoat that are so much worse than the original stains I was trying to get out. One machine wash hasn't fixed it; I hope my coat isn't ruined.
I swear by this stuff. I never do reviews for products, but this REALLY WORKS! I always have one in my purse. Thank you Tide To Go!
Used it to get dirt off on one shirt and a food substance and both white shirts are now ruined. I am out $100 now because we have to get new shirts!
Used this product on a tiny chocolate stain. The product removed the chocolate but where the product wet the shirt it turned yellow. Still there despite laundering as soon as I noticed it.
Took a Tide-to-go stick on our tour of Italy. On the trip my white cardigan was sprayed with cola, I sat on chocolate & a waiter dripped grease on my jacket. The Tide stick took out every stain.
THIS STUPID PEN DOESNT WORK MY CLOSE STILL HAVE STUFF ON IT. I EVEN FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS AND IT STILL SUCKS. MAKE A BETTER QUALITY OUT OF THIS PEN ADD OXYCLEAN OR SOMETHING!!
THIS STUPID PEN DOESNT WORK MY CLOSE STILL HAVE STUFF ON IT. I EVEN FOLLOWED THE DIRECTIONS AND IT STILL SUCKS. MAKE A BETTER QUALITY OUT OF THIS PEN ADD OXYCLEAN OR SOMETHING!!
Received a gift of Tide to Go pen while in Mexico. Having trouble finding them in Pacific NW. Help!
This product is incredible. I have meeting today after lunch. A fry covered in ketchup tumbled down the front of my shirt. My tide to go pen and a microfiber cloth made it almost unnoticeable!
It works and we have not had incidents where it ruins the clothing. BUT it smells AWFUL. The smell is pungent especially if you're in meetings or around people.
I recently used this product on a pair of denim jeans and it heavily discolored the jeans. Attempted to give "1 Star" on all fields but the site forced me to give 1.5. Not cool :(
The Tide pen is a novel idea that works--a stain pen and blotter in one. However, the liquid smells like baby vomit. I would like for them to throw a little fragrance into the mix.
would not recommend this product to anyone, it stained my shorts even more than the stain that was previously on them
The tide to go pen works for color fabrics but when you use it on whites you're better off with the stain you had. It made the original stain fade but created a wet stain looking like a sweat stain
Left early in the morning for a special day, had to stop for coffee....coffee was spilled on white and black dress.....instead of returning home for a change, went to the nearest store to pick up a tide to go......the clerk just looked and said COFFEE..Oh no...to which I answered...Tide to go hasn't let me down yet...and I was right....my husband was completely surprised that the there was no evidence of coffee on the dress...Best product ever!
I just bought a Tide stick, but I've only had it for a week and it seems to already be empty (no solution is released when I press down!) I'm very disappointed with the duration of this product's use.
Wish it would come in a clear tube so I'd know when to get a new one! Great product! Introduced all my friends to it and they love it!
Used on my black pants, blotch parts all along it now, so it works
Dropped some bar-b-Q sauce on my white shirt, ran into the store and cleaned the stain while in the checkout line. Works as advertised and I'm forever grateful!
I bought a pack of 2 Tide to go mini and after using one of the sticks only once, it seemed there was nothing else in the tube. What a waste of money! I had used one of my mom's Tide sticks once and liked the convenience of it so I bought my own and was quite disappointed.
This product did not remove the food stain but removed the color of the fabric leaving ugly white spots on my skirt..
No problems until today my husband spilt on his work pants and I offered the tide stick. Unfortunately it bleached the grey fabric so there is now a white spot. great pair of nice dress pants ruined.
A waiter dumped a glass of red wine on my cream colored designer purse. I was convinced it was ruined. We went to the store to get a Tide to go pen and it saved my purse. It looks as good as new.
execellent idea for travel purpose and the stain comes right out
Ruined two of my best white dress shirts by leaving large yellow stains. Read the reviews, this happens to many. Tide's suggestions about soaking did no good.
Used it on my Tom's (Shoes) to wipe out a yellow mustard stain... the pen decided to take the colors with it :-D #SOS
It sounds like they fixed the smelly part since my pen was created, but it worked fine. Just read the directions on how to use it and what to use it for and you shouldn't have any problems.
I bought a tide pen the year before we moved to our current residence of five years this summer. I put a white dust ruffle on my husband.s bed yesterday to try to hide the obvious working parts of a hospital bed. He has very thin skin that tears easily. He opened a spot on his arm getting into bed and sure enough after tending his wound there on my beautiful new dust ruffle were three dark red drops. I used kleenex to blot them and went in search of the tide pen I had used a few times the first month I had it then it was mislaid when we moved. It turned up after a twenty minute search and the only part that still retained it,s colour was the cap and I could still make out the bold blue name Tide but anything like instructions that were printed in white were no longer legible. I decided I had nothing to lose and gave it a go. The little nib popped up and down with ease. I know I,m way long with this comment but I was truly amazed. After five years of being kicked around enough to wear off the label it worked and the blood was completely gone after sitting exposed to the air while I ransacked every drawer I could think of. My next trip to a store will have me getting three more of them for my purse, the car and one each for the pockets on his walker and wheelchair. I,m 66 and Tide was the only laundry soap my Mom ever used, she was very frugal and used it to wash our dishes too Her hands would never be used in a dish liquid commercial but our dishes squeaked after they were rinsed under the hot water tap. Good old tide made an appearance from under the kitchen sink every day of my childhood. .Thanks for the memories.
I bought a shirt, fitted and dry cleaned. Got home and noticed dime size yellow stain on the collar, Had wedding in 24 hrs. I ran to the store and bought this product. Worked wonders, Stain gone!!!!
Don't know what happens if this project sits for a while but something decomposes and stinks like garbage. used in on my shirt and people were asking what stunk. really bad smell. would not recommend.
I use Tide to Go frequently. It works very well. My problem is with the tube (stops a 5 star rating). The lid comes off frequently in my purse and it dries out. I wish the lid stayed on.
A greasy spill on a restaurant seat made a large stain on my back pant leg. I grabbed the pen & when I took the cap off, the pen tip dropped to the floor, so the pen was useless. Very disappointed.
I got a small coffee stain on my white patterned dress shirt. The size of the stain increased after using the product. This product effectively did the opposite of what it was supposed to do.
The TTG removed a sauce stain on my white polo...only problem is the liquid from the TTG added a brown-ish/yellow-ish ring on my shirt around where the old stain used to be...
Within 3 month after I bought this, pen was dried out when I went to use it even though it was sealed in package!
I dyed my friends hair black and blue when she stayed at my house.Anyways after it was finished i realized i got blue dye all over my favourite band shirt i was heart broken. So i went to walmart and bought a tide stick it took 2 or 3 trys and the dye was all gone.I did use the whole stick but i was really happy with the result.Amazing product would recommend to everyone.
I LOVE this little stain removing pen. This has saved me many times. I have always kept one in my purse. My only complaint is the design of the container; the lid keeps coming off and the liquid sometimes gets on other things and dries out. I now keep it in a snack baggy but I would love if the lid was a twist on :) "
Perfect for my husband when he was away from home and needed to keep his dressed blues squared away!
Horrible product and customer service. My Tide pen stained my shirt with a big red circle. Tide Customer Service would not reimburse me because they want the pen back. Why would I have kept a staining pen around my house? I threw out right after it stained my expensive shirt! I've read other reviews now about this problem. If only I had read them before. Hopefully my review saves someone else's shirt and they read this in time! I won't be buying any tide products from now on due to the customer service.
This Product is exactly what I needed! How can I buy it with lowest price and where.
This is the second time that I have given tide to go pens a chance. Both times it has destroyed my clothing, leaving white stains on my BRAND NEW pants! Very disappointed in this product.
heard so much about the product but I seemed to have a "defective" one....purchase 2 pkg mini ...one worked one didn't???...dried up? nothing coming out....I had emailed a couple of weeks ago...no reply? I included the UPC code at the time.
I recently bought myself a Vancouver Whitecaps jersey ! After a few rough and tough games with my son I developed a nasty black stain on the chest of the jersey from the ball . I tried many times to apply other detergents and even took the jersey into the dry-cleaner without any success. A friend suggested try the "tide pen" after applying the pen and using tide detergent the stain was removed !!!!! THANK YOU FOR BRINGING BACK THE WHITEOUT!
I wore a brand new paid of white linnen pants to work today. I spilled the juice from frozen blueberries all over my left leg from the knee down. I kept applying Tide to Go on the stain and within an hour, it was completely gone!!! Everyone in my office can't believe it. Thanks!!
I used the to go pen today and as soon as I removed the cap and started using it I could smell it... almost like parmesan cheese. The dress I was using it on had a tiny little stain on it that did seem to be coming out. I tried dabbing the dress with plain water to get the smell out but it didn't work. Even perfume didn't help. Finally threw it in the laundry and the pen in the garbage.
I use Tide to Go on a fairly regular basis. I find that If used as soon as I spill, it will remove stains quickly. However, I'm not a big fan of the smell. I find it smells like chemicals. Also, I agree that the cap should be a twist on, to prevent the cap from popping off in purses. Otherwise, very convenient!
Greatly dissapointed!!!!! Tried to clean food stain, mud stain, and ink stain. None of them was gone / erased from Tide to go. It is a waste of money, please do not buy this product unless the company tried to improve this Tide " to go"..........
I used a Tide to Go pen on my brand new white jeans. Now I have yellow stains in the two spots I used the Tide to Go pen. What can I do to get rid of the yellow stains? I'm really disappointed Tide did this to my white jeans and now I cannot wear them. I would have never expected these results from a Tide product and have always used Tide products for all laundry needs. I'll be reconsidering moving forward after this bad experience leaving me with ruined jeans.
I love this little stain removing stick. Has saved me many times. I have always kept one in my makeup bag. Unfortunately my only complaint is not in the product itself but in the design of the container; the lid keeps coming off and then the liquid sometimes gets on other things and dries out. I could keep it in a snack baggy but I think you should make the lid a twist on :)
I have had great success using this tide pen stain remover. I've used it for ink stains, shoe polish, juice stains and more.... Unfortunately, it does smell like puke...but the smell goes away after washing the clothes. It's better then perm stained ruined clothes... Keep it clean :)
Didn't work on pollen stains, didn't work on coffee stains, didn't work on juice stains. The stains were larger and only slightly less noticeable after using Tide to go. The only thing it removed was about $6.50 from my wallet. Hand soap and water works much better.
Loved this product until I used it last night on my favorite camel colored coat. I got red lipstick on the coat and although it was a small mark I figured the pen would remove the stain as it usually has with other clothing. Once I used it on the coat it seemed to remove it until I checked the following day and realized the HUGE white mark left on my coat. It is completely ruined :( I am trying to research on how to fix it but I am worried there's no hope. Someone please let me know if theres anything I can do to fix this? Thanks.
I bought a 3-pack of the Tide to Go pens thinking I could have one stashed in my home, work, and car. However, upon trying to use the pens I found that the caps do not come off easily. In fact, on two of them the cap was held on so tight that instead of coming off, the whole top of the pen came off in my hand and spilled detergent all over the place. What a waste of money!
I got some mascara on my white pants and Tidetogo did not get it out. I was disappointed, but do like the idea of having a stain remover in my purse
Used now a couple times and hasn't once worked to remove any fresh stain.
While shopping at a local food store, samples of salsa were given to customers. My sample just happened to drop on the front of my new, beautiful white blouse. Attendant gave me Tide to Go which took the stain out. But less than 1 hour, I had a terrible yellow stain on the front of my blouse. Came home, threw it in the washing machine with Tide Detergent and it would not come out (did not put it in the dryer or the stain would have set forever). However, fingers crossed, I just poured distilled white vinegar on the entire stain and have it soaking with detergent in hot water. Looks like this may have done the trick by removing the stain. I will leave it soak overnight and hopefully the stain is gone. Vinegar is a wonderful cleaning agent for many things. Yep, fingers crossed!
I used A Tide-to-go stick on a very tiny stain on my BRAND NEW blue pants that I bought yesterday. The stain came out but it dried and the color was completely stripped from the pants. I cannot believe brand new pants are ruined :( I don't have a lot of money and I never get new things. This is devestating to me. I hope Tide does something to change that, as it seems to be a common side-effect. I'm so sad.
I dropped a French fry covered in gravy and ketchup on myself at lunch today. It landed on my white capris in three spots. I immediately used tide-to-go and it didn't work. I am thoroughly disappointed.
I'm a loyal Tide user for laundry, and also carry Tide To Go in my suitcase pouch. Applied it to stain on designer dress after dinner on trip. Stain remained, but with the addition of a 3" oval discoloration that did not disappear. Dry cleaner at home said the Tide had permanently removed the color from the fabric. Incredibly, he was able to restore the appearance. Worth noting: other similar stains on the dress that were not treated with Tide To Go that night came out just fine in the dry cleaning. If I'd simply waited, I would have been spared vacation-blues from thinking I'd ruined a gorgeous dress by taking the advice of the advertising.
I had balsamic vinegar splash all over my brand new shirt. I applied the Tide to Go pen on the stains, and they vanished almost instantly. Thanks for saving my life. I have one product recommendation. Put this on a Key Chain. It would help men, who don't carry around a purse with them.
I have purchased Tide to Go before and had good results. I recently purchased the Tide to Go Mini for our vacation. I applied the the stain remover to my husband's shirt, as well as mine. The stains came off immediately, but the shirts were left with yellow stains which cannot be removed. I was so disappointed. My shirt was brand new and my husband's shirt was an older, but nice one. I threw mine away, but fortunately could still purchase a new one at a sale price. My husband now wears his to work on the farm. As for the offensive Tide to Go smell, this is only if it is an old stain remover. The new ones are fine.
This is my first unsolicited consumer review but I was inspired. Just today, I dropped a fresh raspberry on my pants @ work. I didn't notice until it had stained them beyond fixing with the dish detergent in our kitchen here. I had left my Tide-to-go pen (never used before !) @ home but someone suggested trying the small store in our building. They had it ! $$$ but well worth it... It truly saved one of my favorite pair of slacks: Orange (color of Tide container) cropped ones pants are basically irreplaceable ! Thanks, Tide-to-go !
I received a tide to go in my Influenster vowvoxbox and I have to say i was a little bit thinking that this product would not work but I was wrong I had a mustard stain on my fav shirt and it took it off with out leaving a heavy smell or damage my clothes. I say this product is a must
My elderly mother dripped catsup on her blouse and slacks on the way to a doctor's appointment. Stopped at nearby store to get her Tide to Go after seeing advertisement for the product so she would not have to return home to change. The catsup stain was VERY fresh. Removed the excess catsup and applied Tide to Go to stain. It did NOT remove the stain, merely smeared it/lightened it and created a ring on her clothing in both places. In fact, when the physician entered the room, she immediately asked, "What happened." We threw the product away -- it does not work as advertised!
I've used Tide to Go for quite a while with wonderful results. BUT, when I assisted an elderly neighbor and her dog from an attack by stray dogs last night, wasn't thinking about my favorite white jacket - which ended up covered in blood. As soon as I got home, treated the blood stains with Tide to Go, most of the blood came out. Poured Tide Laundry Detergent directly on the remaining stains and immediately laundered the jacket. It's cleaner than clean - I was amazed since it wasn't supposed to work well on blood. But it did - and I can't thank you enough!!!
The Tip on my Pen dried out and broke off with less than 1/3 of the product utilized.
I am highly disappointed in Tide-to-go. I got a small, simple stain on colored pants at work and thought my Tide-to-go would be the easy answer. That's exactly what it is for right? I used the product which completely discolored my pants, so the pants are left with a white splotch on the front and ruined. Now I am out the price of the pair of pants. :(
My son and daughter in law came to take me out for brunch on Mother's Day. I was wearing white pants and a pretty blouse and carried a cup of coffee, my first mistake! My son hit a pothole and my coffee splashed on my white pants. We were too far away to go home so I could change my clothes. My daughter in law, Shari, opened her purse and took out her Tide To Go and I got all the coffee stains out of my pants! I was so happy I went out and bought myself one the next day! And Mother's day was perfect!
I find the pen works well when I treat a stain quickly. I despise the smell of the product. I usually have to find time to change my shirt to avoid the stench.
I wore a white shirt to work, and, not thinking, leaned over my take out cup of coffee to grab something off the truck floor. Of course I got coffee smudged on the front of my shirt.I was not only already at work but getting ready to meet a very high end client for my boss, and needed to make a great impression. Thank goodness I have Tide To Go sticks, cleaned it up in just a minute and dried very quickly! Thanks SO much for a great product!
One day, while I was at work, wearing a white shirt. I spilled Coke all down the front of my shirt. I had to go to church right after work and did not have time to go home to change shirts. Fortunately, I carry a "Tide To Go" pen in my briefcase. I used the pen (and it was a big area) and every part of the area came clean!! Thank you Tide, GREAT product
I HAD SOME MAKEUP STAINS ON MY WHITE PANTS THIS MORNING AND I BOUGHT THE TIDE PEN, THINKING THAT IT WOULD WORK. WELL IT DID NOT, IN FACT IT MADE MY PANTS WORSE, FIRST DAY WEARING THEM AND I GOT THE PEN TO REMOVE THE SMALL STAIN AND IT LEFT A HUGE YELLOW RING. NEVER BUYING A TIDE PRODUCT AGAIN AND NEITHER WILL MY FAMILY,. I EVEN BOUGHT 2 ONE EXTRA AND I WILL BE RETURNING BOTH, TIDE I WILL NEVER BY ANYYYYYYY PRODUCT FROM YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY UNSATISFIED, AND PEOPLE DONT BELIEVE THE LIES
Good product, works for me most of the time, Recently I used it on a dress shirt, wuite a lot of the pen to get a stain out, and there is a faint line/residue left on the shirt after it dries, does anyone know if this residue will wash out if I put the shirt in the wash (with more tide products of course!)? Little reluctant to try it on more of my dress shirts until I see if the tide to go residue will come out in the wash...
First time using tide to go and I did not like it. It did not remove the stain plus it left an awful smell on my clothes.Just for my luck I decided to use it at work everyone I worked with could smell it.First and last time I buy this product. I was not satisfied I was dissapointed
Thank You Tide to Go! I am travelling on business, and was ironing in my hotel room last night. When I got to my favorite purple shirt, custom tailored I might add, I was greeted with two light blue blotches, dead center. I pulled out my Tide to Go stick, which I had not touched in at least 2 or 3 years. I hit the stains with a heavy dose, then rinsed the area, and hung to dry. This morning, I have perfect purple, no stains. Now I can buy a new Tide to Go stick instead of an expensive new shirt. Thank You!!!
Had coffee stain on slacks and tried to remove with pen and all it did was make an outline of the stain. Made it worse.
Purchased a Kenneth Cole winter white feather-down winter coat which was marked down due to a fairly large pink lipstick stain on the back. Tide to Go Instant Stain Remover worked wonders. Stain is now gone. Thank you for this great product. I now have a perfectly good new winter coat at a fraction of the price to keep me warm this winter.
Was shocked it worked on blue sharpie! Although pkg said may not work for ink I decided to try it anyway. It removed 90% of a blue sharpie stain on my sons new winter hat. I'm glad I tried it because it made a huge difference, not perfect, but much better with just a dot left instead of the whole smudge.
I used this product for the first time today in the hopes I could at least lighten a set in grease stain on the front of a newer sweatshirt. To my amazement, the stain is gone with one washing. I used Tide To Go instant stain remover, applied and rubbed in a little laundry detergent and then washed in hot water. So happy that I can now wear again, the sweatshirt I thought was going to get thrown in the "rag bag"! Thank you Tide:)!
I use it all the time especially on Mustard and Chipotle sauce stains. It works every time! Thanks
Got coffee stains out of a friend's pants. In Hawaii, every time I turned around, my granddaughter was saying, " Tide Pen, Grandma". No problem with smell from it, nor cap falling off.
I've used this several times, always making excuses. Oh, it must be an old pen, maybe its just the wrong fabric to use it on, etc. etc. Unlike other reviewers, I have not had issues with the cap falling off. I do have two issues with this product, that to me make it worthless. 1. It leaves the treated area slightly discolored (until you wash it, at least for washable fabrics), which is almost more noticeable than the stain itself. 2. It smells. Bad. Like really, really bad. My coworker used it and had to change. It's very strong and very unpleasant. It's distracting. I know it's not a fluke. I've purchased 4 pens in my life and they're all the same. I've heard the same from others. I'm surprised More reviewers did not comment on the stench. This is not something I would waste my money on. Very disappointing product from a company that continuously releases great products.
I SPILLED MY MUM'S SCRUMPTIOUS YORKSHIRE PUDDING GRAVY ON MY FAVOURITE TROUSERS TODAY. SUCH A SHAME. MY TRUSTED TATTOO ARTIST SUGGESTED TIDE TO GO. I GAVE IT A GO. THE STAIN PREVAILED. DO NOT BELIEVE THE LIES.
Ruined my pants :( replaced old stain with tide to go stain
I got a stain on my favorite blue silk dress when I was on vacation. Some sort of sauce stain. I was trying to remove stain by using Tide to Go. I shouldn't have done it!!! Now I have large yellow stain where I had used the Tide to go. I was crying, honestly. My favorite dress is ruined by your product!
On my wedding this past June, I had accidentally sat in coffee right before the wedding ceremony. It left a huge coffee stain on the back of my dress. In a panic, (and obviously, I was trying to stay calm as best I could), my bridesmaids brought out their Tide to GO sticks. After about 15 minutes...and with about 3 "Tide to Go" sticks, the stain COMPLETELY came out. It was amazing. Tide to GO seriously saved my white wedding dress and my wedding! It is an amazing product!
This little miracle is always with me. If any stain gets on my clothes I use Tide to Go and the stain is gone! Easy to use and so portable.
Use it on a spaghetti stain (which listed on the packaging as something this pen removes), and it didn't work a single bit. I got better results from rinsing the stain in hot water than using this pen. Do not buy!
After seeing a small (1/2 dime size) mustard stain on my white cotton dress shirt, I attempted to remove said stain by using Tide to Go. After wetting the spot and rubbing with the applicator tip as recommended, I was disappointed to see that not only was the stain still there, but it had grown, and was now surrounded by a much larger, discolored ring. The shirt (one of my favorites) is now essentially useless.
I was at my 40th high school class reunion. Some of us gathered early to have a drink. I was wearing white capris and ordered a Bloody Mary. Yup, I spilled it all over my white pants. I got out my Tide Stick and went to work. It used whatever was left in that stick, but it did the trick. I was not embarrassed the rest of the night. When I got home and washed them, they came out completely white! Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
Ruined my favourite pair of pants. Did not even remove the stain, simply removed the colouring of my pants then left the original stain. I arrived at work looking like I can't do my own laundry. Awful product, would not recommend it to anyone.
The Tide to Go Pen is a great product but I spend more on replacement having to buy another because of the cap that always comes off. , I have contacted TIDE and they have not changed this product defect.
Please do not use this. It turned my very small stain into a larger more noticeable stain. The stain was just a spot of dirt which would have easily came out in the wash but I thought I would try this. The stain it left DID NOT come out in the wash. Ruined a $100 dollar sweater, thanks Tide.
At the start of my day I was unpleasantly surprised with a bloody nose. Unfortunately, it stained my light colored pants. I am too far from home to go home and change and I surely did not want to be in public with the stain on the front of my pants. I keep the Tide to Go stick in my car. I went out to the car and soaked that area. It took more than usual, but it did work. I made it through the day without embarrassing myself or my boss, and there was not a stain on my pants after it dried or after I washed them! Thanks for a great product that makes such nasty events easier to handle, and saved my day.
Tide-to-go is great at lifting stains, however, if you get a tide-to-go pen like I did, you won't be satisfied. These pens tend to spoil over time and if you purchase one that spoils, it will cause your clothes to smell and smell strongly. The smell is unpleasant and can be compared to vomit or sour milk. Tide-to-go should be sold like milk, with an expiration date. I used to be an avid user of Tide products but now that I've experience what I've experienced, along with the money I've wasted, I can no longer trust Tide products!
I like Tide to go, but use it very rarely because it smells like kiddie puke. I read through some other posts here and found others that thought the same thing. The response by P&G about shelf life of a year doesn't really mean much. I've even had that smell come from a brand new one out of the package. It's so gross!
My wife and I use the stick successfully a lot. We frequently eat out alone and with groups of friends. Someone inevitably stains a shirt, blouse or pants. When we have the stick it works great. The problem with the stick is our collective memories. We often forget it altogether or leave in in the car. I thought it would be a good idea to be able to put one our key chains. The keys always make into the restaurant so we would always have for immediate use.
It removes most stains like red wine, but pasta sauce just leaves the stain a light orange. I just wish they would print the directions on the actual stick and have a screw on cap. The cap always comes off and the liquid comes out and is wasted. Plus the directions on the actual package would be helpful due to the fact that most of us discard the original packaging,
A waste of money. I tried it many times. Never cleaned my shirt when I spilled coffee on it! when shall this product work then
I used Tide to Go on one of my favorite shirts and ended up with a larger stain. Now I have a dark circle surrounded by a lighter circle on my shirt. What a waste of money, but more what a disappointment in a product.
Removed the dye on my jeans - would not use this product again.
I helped a mother get chocolate ice cream out of her daughter's dress. The mother was SO PLEASED!
I used this product to remove a small stain on a pair of light yellow Zara jeans. It did remove the stain, but it also removed the colour from my jeans. I am now left with a large white circle on me pants which are now ruined.
Good product, but I agree with the other reviewers - MAKE IT A SCEW CAP, please! The cap is constantly popping off in my brief case and the stain remover runs out. I now tape the cap shut so that it will stay on.
I've had a Tide stick in my bag and work desk drawer since they have come out. But I'm at my end with the caps and it sounds like I'm not alone. Add a small twist to the caps so they don't pop off! I want to buy more Tide sticks because I've used up the pen for its purpose, not because they've gone dry due to a lack of a cap.
I just transitioned to civilian life after serving 26 years in the US Army, switching from the uniform (camouflage) to business attire was a big change for me and I had failed to realize how easy it was to stain your shirt (once again camouflage covers all). The Tide Stain Stick has become a necessity in my desk to remove any and all spots, stains and embarrassing spills. Thanks for the clever invention.
So on the first day of starting a new job, I spilled tea on my shirt. This is a very common stain and one of the food stains this product is recommended for use on. I was so proud of myself for having my tide to go pen with me! Unfortunately, the tide pen failed to remove the tea, but even worse it bleached my shirt so now I have a tea stain surrounded by a light yellow ring on a bright yellow shirt. Needless to say, I felt like an idiot walking around like that on my first day, and my brand new shirt is ruined. Thanks for nothing, Tide.
I have used the Tide to Go pen in the past with success, and have appreciated having it in my suitcase. However, I have just purchased a white, cotton shirt which now has two yellow stains on the front where I used the Tide to Go pen. I was trying to remove two small red spots that splashed on the shirt from preparing raspberries. The fruit stains disappeared, but the yellow stains that resulted are obvious in sunlight. I've washed the shirt, and the yellow remains. I've called Tide, and the customer service agent recommended more Tide detergent directly on the stains over night, followed by rewashing. I'm trying this now. Hopeful, but very disappointed in the meantime.
The product use to work very well, but you must have changed the formula. Now it doesn't work very well at all. I will not waste my money on it in the future.
I had a simple grease stain on my brand new expensive knitted shirt after dinner. I thought the "Tide To GO" product should be the ideal solution to remove the stain and re-claim my shirt back before laundry. The result was disastrous, not only that the stain was not removed but the color of the area surrounding the stain was faded. The shirt has been practically destroyed.
Stain removal is fabulous with Tide-To-Go! Quick and efficient product! However - the cap should be screw-on so it stays on. The product dries out quickly if uncapped, and in my purse, that is a daily occurance. Please - P & G - fix this problem!!
Your product is AMAZING!! I works fast,it's simple,it also actually fights stains. But, you could put more of the cleaning agent in the Tide to go. I am a messy eater (sometimes) and I spill food and have lots of stains. Another thing is the cap. It keeps falling off. Thus, the stick dries out or leaks. Other than that, your product is AWESOME!!!! I LOVE Tide!:)
I found the same problem ,when pulling cap off the the entire contents spill out . The little I soaked up with the shirt that had the stain the stain did not come out. Can,t say the product impressed.
Product is wonderful and a must-have. I keep one in the car, in my purse, in my desk at work, etc. I agree with the previous writer - the cap for my Tide to Go pen is ALWAYS coming off! It would be great to have a tighter or screw-cap.
I love the tide stick. I have one in my purse at all times. I have one GIANT gripe. Make a screw on lid!! The lid continuously comes off in my purse and the stick leaks. It is expensive enough without losing half of it in the the bottom my purse. This is a huge problem..Why is is so hard to make a lid that stays on!
I had just gotten a new Gryffindor tie at the Harry Potter exhibition, and a little while later, noticed a small stain on it. I used the Tide to Go, and not only is the original stain still there, but there is a bigger stain left by the stain "remover." This is a horrible product and I will NEVER use it again.
I am truly blown away by this product. Foundation has ruined so many pieces of my clothing and NOTHING would work to get it out, I got liquid foundation on my WHITE blazer right before my sisters bridal shower and a friend of my suggested I use Tide To Go, I was already under the impression I would have to buy a brand new one and before I knew it, it disappeared right before my eyes I literally could not believe it! I have tried every google remedy to get foundation off of my clothes tide to go has now saved me a ton of money! I tell every woman to carry one in their purses it truly is a life saver!
The tide stick has let me down before, but in less important situations so never felt the urge to write a review but today I tried to remove a stain off of a tie for a friend who was rushing out to a meeting. (He is in sales and always has to look his best) I used the pen as always and when it dried the stain was still there....i guess from now on i shall resort to the old cloth and seltzer trick. that has never failed me. Tide stick is no longer on my shopping list.
tried to remove stain product didn"do to well would not recommendto any one
I purchased a "to go" stick for a recent trip to Mexico. Day 3 I got blood on the knee of my white pants. The "to go' stick got rid of the blood stain with little effort. Back at home a leaky pen got put in the wash. My husband's new fleece came out with an ink stain about the size of a silver dollar. Desperate for a solution, I remembered the stain pen in my travel bag. Viola! It again did the trick and the fleece is good as new.
I have seen this product advertised for sometime now. I am opening a Bridal Boutique and have purchased some Sample dresses that had some make up stains, one someone spilled something on a beautiful gown and so I thought I would chance using this product on getting these small marks off of them and I can not say nothing bad about this product!! Thank you!
I love this product, but the cap doesn't stay on...dries out and I have to throw it away. Why not a screw on cap?
When your daughter shops on her own and then spends her own money on a special gift just for you and blueberry sauce is splashed on the front of the blouse the first time you wear it.... Grab your Tide to go stick and no more worries! Thank you for a great product!
Had a small ink stain the size of a BB in my shirt pocket. I know the directions say does not work well on ink but what the hay. I used the Tide To Go pen on the ink stain and it grew to the size of a quarter. It was black now it is a huge gray stain. I could of lived with the BB size stain in the pocket but a big gray stain the size of a quarter ruined the shirt. Very disappointed!!!
While Tide to Go did get rid of most of the coffee, mustard and ketchup satin on some of the shirts on which I used the product, it mostly ruined the shirts by somehow "opening" up the fabric. At the outer limits of where the Tide to Go pen is applied, the 65 % polyester / 35 % cotton fabric has become transparent due to the threads separating to a point where the vertical straight lines are now crooked. Next time I'll wait and use good old soap and water...
my boyfriend had 4 bloody noses in 24 hours. I tried the Tide to go Stain Remover and it removed the stains from the sheets, pillow case, his shirt, and even the mattress and carpet. I would gladly recommend this product to everyone!
I was just at the supermarket, buying fresh raspberries when the package leaked all over my white sweatshirt. After checking out, I decided to go back for a stain removed and picked up the Tide to Go Pen. It took about 5 minutes to remove the raspberry stain completely! I am so happy I purchased this product.
Why do I always seem to have spaghetti when I wear my white shirt? I did again today and of course I got some spaghetti sauce splatter on my shirt. Thank goodness for this product. It works like a champ. Now no one outside the break room knows how much of a slob I am except me. I love this product.
I tried this remover on puck marks on our hockey jerseys, but it didn't work. Took out alot of other stains though. Do you have a product that will remove the black rubber marks from ice hockey pucks that accumulate on the jerseys?
I keep a pen in my office drawer and in my car for emergencies. I'm a very messy eater, so it comes in handy often. However, this pen smells terrible. I immediately blot/wet my clothes to get the awful smell out. It's unfortunate that while I'm eating lunch, and inevitably spilling on myself, I lose my appetite after getting a whiff of this pen trying to clean myself up. Please, please (!!) add some anti-vomit smelling chemical to this solution.
I also have the same complaint about the cap not staying on in my purse. I have to keep it in a baggie to keep it from leaking all over my purse. My other complaint is that it doesn't last long before it develops a foul odor. Every few months, I have to replace it because it stinks like vomit. I had to use it yesterday and it did get the stain out but I had to get a wet rag to get that smell out of my blouse before my coworkers smelled it on me. VERY STINKY!! Why is that? Your chemists need to work on that because I hate having to keep buying a new one when the one I have is still relatively full. Money down the drain as far as I'm concerned.
I used the pen to remove a small soda stain on a white blazer. The soda is gone, however, there is a large water mark left from the pen. After a trip to the cleaners, the stain remains..I'm very disappointed!
I love this product, usually have a stick in my purse and it works great to prevent stains from setting in. My only critic of the product is the design of the cap; for whatever reason, the cap will not stay on the stick. This has happened to me every single time I've purchased this, and as a result the tide stick dries up prematurely in my bag. I hope they fix this design flaw
I recently purchased a tide to go mini to remove a small blood stain while on holiday. It was a fresh stain, but I couldn't believe how quickly it ran out and failed to take out any of the blood stain. I did a little search afterwards and one link noted that tide to go does not work well on blood stains. This was not mentioned anywhere on the packaging when I purchased it. Not all customers have access to the web to look this up when shopping. I was not pleased with the lack of info and how fast the product ran out. Will not purchase this again or recommend it to others.
e first time I used the tide stick it was to take mustard of of a canuck shirt at an NHL playoff game and it worked great since then I've used it for various stains. But we just tried to open a new stick the cap was very tight and the end came off before the lid and spilled the entire stick wasn't very happy.
I had spilled red stamp ink on my favorite hoodie and I thought it was gone forever! I used almost an entire pen on it because I applied it several times throughout the day. When I got home, I threw it in the wash, and VIOLA! the stain was gone. Thank you tide pen! :) The minus side to this thing is, I have had these before, the caps come off in my purse and they dry out before I use them. I happened to have a pretty new one with me, so it was still good. Also, they stink, so I avoid using them if I think it can wait because I don't want to walk around smelling like that. Overall, two thumbs up!
Couldn't open this. Used my teeth in frustration, and it spilled all over. I still don't know how people get it open without pulling off the whole top.
So I was deejaying for President Obama and had some downtime & went for lunch and stained my shirt before my event I bought this product for the 1st time and my stain was gone! That simple now i carry this everywhere i go! Hey tide want to sponsor me some products!!
This weekend I got out the dress I wore on my honeymoon - two years ago. Friends were hosting a fancy dinner and it was the first chance I'd had to wear the dress since my honeymoon. When I got it out of the closet, I noticed a splatter of red wine spots, a two-year-old stain that I had never treated at all. I didn't have much hope, but got out my Tide Pen (which I've owned forever but rarely use) to give it a try. A little scrub of the pen on each wine dot, and the dress was pure white again. Absolutely as good as new. I could not be more impressed with this product. Anything that can remove a two-years-old red wine stain is a champion in my book!
On a cruise last winter, my luggage remained in Toronto. Having only my travelling clothes to wear, wouldn't you know it, I dropped a spot of sauce (from dinner) onto my shirt. Luckily I had picked up a tube of Tide to go as an emergency. I always carry a tube with me when travelling. PS the luggage caught up with me eight (8) days later.
This is the 2nd time that I have bought a tide to go stick that has opened up entirely while I try to remove the lid and spilled all over me!!! The first time I was lucky and the outfit I was wearing was OK. This time I was not so lucky. I would have performed a "test" patch given the opportunity--but almost all of the contents of the stick spilled all over my favorite linen skirt and ruined it!!! This is the last time I buy this product!!!!
I have used your Tide pen many times in the past and it ids usually very good for taking stains off clothing but the last 2 pens have had a real problem..After using the pen on my clothing-there is a very foul smelling odor that is just terrible and hangs with you for hours..The last 2 pens have had this foul smell..It is awful and I actually had to wash a shirt today immediately after I arrived home to try to eliminate this foul smell...Your company has evidentally put another chemical in the pen..I will not buy another one till you fix this problem...
Yesterday I wore my white linen jacket to work and during lunch I managed to spill spaghetti sauce on the right side of the jacket. Fortunately, one of my co-workers had a Tide To Go in her desk drawer and after three applications the bright orange stain was no longer visible. I will be recommending that my daughters always carry one in their purse or have one available at their place of work. Thank you Tide to Go.,
I think the To Go pen is great and works well. However, once it's opened, the cap comes off in my purse. I am lucky to get one or two uses out of each pen, then it dries up. You need to devise a screw-on cap, or a cap that seals securely! I have been burned so many times by this product, I will not purchase it again.
I love the results from Tide to Go pen but the design of the cap is horrible. I have had at least 5 of these pens and without fail the cap comes off in my purse. I constantly have some of the fluid leaking in my purse. There must be a way to design a cap that stays on! A screw top maybe? This design flaw made me open to trying a Duane Reade generic version. Fix the cap and I'm back.
I was on my way to work, wearing white capris, and I took a bite of a strawberry, which then dripped down onto my lap! I didn't have enough time to go home and change, and I tried to blot the stain out at work, which only made it bigger. Luckily, I remembered I had my Tide pen with me, and even though it was quite old, it still worked. In 20 minutes, there was no trace of the stain at all!
Unfortunately the marketing of the Tide to Go instant stain remover pen got me - so when I got a tiny dirty stain on my Brand New Trukfit hat, I washed away the mud and there was a small stain - I thought "Hey, Tide to go!" I thought wrong. Now there is a fist sized bleach stain on my perfect in every other way Brand new hat. I do not recommend nor will I ever use this product again. Big. Fat. Fail.
As hard as I try I can't seem to get through a meal or an activity without getting some sort of stain on me. Tide to go has definitely been a life saver....or at least a clothes saver! Salad dressing, barbecue sauce and even fresh made blueberry sauce have all come out with this product. I carry one in my purse, my car and even my gym bag! It has not only saved my clothes but those of many of my friends since I always have it with me. The only reason I have rated this item a 4 out of 5 is because of the poor design of the cap. Every time I fish for it in the bottom of my purse it comes out cap-less. It doesn't seem to be much of an issue, but it would be nice if would just stay on.
My husband and I decided to be "nice" when it came time to cut the cake. He was being very careful, but some of the chocolate cake and filling fell straight down my dress leaving a trail. We still had a ton of pictures to take so I was on the verge of tears, when my new sister in law brought over a Tide to Go stick. It took the chocolate right out of my dress and 5 years later, there are still no stains or residue that has reappeared. Thanks Tide!!1
I spilled some mango juice on a good quality and somewhat valuable white T shirt...immediately I tried to remove the stain with cold water but it remained. Later in the day at the Walmart checkout I notice the Tide togo...about $4 tx included...bought it took it home, tried it as directed...stain still there after 2 trys ...Fortunately I still had part of a bar of Ban-it, that I bought years ago...instantly gone...wish I'd thought of it first. Maybe it only works on P&G generated stains...
I had an unknown stain on the front of a white polyester jersey. It removed the stain then 10 minutes later it became a larger purple stain, which was not the color of the original stain. I tried washing it off and it only made it worse. I pretreated and washed it later and most, but not all of it, was removed. I really liked that jersey.
For the most part, the pen took out 4-5 small stains from splashed pizza sauce. But in a couple of places it left a yellow spot on my white, 63% cotton/33% nylon/4% spandex dress shirt. Soaking overnight in liquid detergent seems to have helped only a little bit, stain is still there.
Hi my name is Janet and my daughter got married last weekend at a winery in Victoria . IN limo on way she dropped lipstick on her lace dress 13 women screamed at driver to stop at grocery store-- we rushed in and bought tide to go . it saved the dress and the day and we have the pictures to prove it thanks -- what a gift that three dollar buy was and what a story all had to tell panic moment ended
Today my mom dyed her hair with a dark brown ammonia-free hair color and it got on our bathroom curtain(not the clear plastic). We did not notice til 2 hours and 30 mins later and we used tide to go and it was gone! NO stains after or any color changes on our shower curtain. Totally recommend this product. They should add on this product-- removes hair color dye-- most definitely!
This product ruined by brand new pair of white shoes. While it succeeded in removing the coffee I spilled on the toe of these shoes, it also left an UGLY yellow tinge that just will not go away. I'm severely disappointed that there is no warning on the label of this product and hope they add it.
I purchased the tide stain stick in hopes of removing a chocolate stain on my blue skirt. It did NOT work!!!!
I used the Tide to go on a brand new pair of pants to remove a lunch stain. It removed the stain, but faded the color of the Khaki's to a light yellow. Super disappointed.
I used this on a top of mine...it took the stain out instantly and I was thrilled until several minutes later when it started to leave a large yellow stain where I had used the Tide to go. I have washed the shirt twice and the large yellowish stain remains...I am NOT IMPRESSED at all. I have thrown out this product and will NEVER buy it again.
I keep a Tide pen in my desk at work, in my purse, in my daughter's diaper bag, and in my car. I'm clumsy and always spilling or dropping things on my clothes, and at the very least the Tide pen makes stains less noticeable. Usually it takes them out altogether-- great for coffee sloshed on work clothes!
Love the product, however the cap keeps popping off in my purse! Would be appreciated if you could change your design to a screw top rather than a pop top cap. Thanks!
Iused it on a $ 150.00 pair of dress pants that I had worn twice. When it dryed it left abrasions on the spots as if something course had been rubbed over them or a chemical had attacked them.
I have been using tide to go for quite some time now and I find it to be very handy when you need a quick fix for a stain. I keep one in my purse at all times and have extra ones at home. It does dry up if not used. I would recommend it to anyone.
bought the minis and they seemed to be dried up...very little liquid came out when pressed into stain..not enough to remove stain. I have used many regular :tide to go" and loved them, but sometimes it leaves a white mark
I was having a blueberry shake and got the littlest stain on my jean vest. I used tide to go and the stain is now gone but it left a white spot where I rubbed and also a big yellow circle around it. I should of waited until I got home to use the real stuff.
i split ranch on my favorite shirt and i used the tide to go mini and the stain will not come out
